At a party your friend says: Those girls look really drunk, let's take them upstairs.

Do you let it happen?

WHY DRAW THE LINE

WHEN TO DRAW THE LINE

HOW TO DRAW THE LINE

When we look away from sexual violence we make it easier for the perpetrator to continue. Every choice we make and every action we take – no matter how small – has the power to make a difference.

Lack of consent turns sexual contact into an act of sexual violence. Someone under the influence of alcohol cannot consent because they are no longer aware of their actions. Consent matters. Only a sober ‘yes’ means yes.

As a bystander you have more than one option to safely take a stand. You can:

  • Call in your friend: Let him know it’s not okay.
  • Alert the others: Let them know what your friend is planning.
  • Report it: Flag it and tell someone you trust - a teacher, a principal, a parent/caregiver or elder.
